What does the DUTCH Test involve?
Doing a private DUTCH test (a simple urine sample) is essential to understand the current hormonal situation for you. With the results a bespoke nutrition protocol can then be created. The NHS offers limited female hormonal testing, unless you are having long-term issues with fertility, yet with a private DUTCH test you can understand your cycle or lack of cycle and why you are experiencing symptoms.
There are two tests to choose from depending on your symptoms and your cycle, as explained more below in the packages.
To take the test, you will be sent a home kit with full instructions as to when and how to take the samples. Your nutritional therapist will receive the results and invite you to a consultation (in person or on zoom) where they will discuss your symptoms, diet and lifestyle in detail, alongside the results.
Your Nutritional Therapist will arm you with knowledge about your four-phase monthly cycle, why your symptoms are there, what your body is telling you and guide you on how to nourish your body and correct these imbalances. You will learn how to consume via food the nutrients your body needs to make the correct hormones, what foods can hinder optimal hormone function and how best to eat to detoxify and excrete used hormones.

The DUTCH Cycling Mapping test is for those with irregular length cycles, those who aren’t sure they ovulate each month or even those who have a regular cycle but feel they have hormonal related issues through the full cycle. This test is more thorough and potentially more accurate as you collect samples over a 55-day period to really build a clear picture of your monthly hormones.
