It is now recognized that establishing a robust and balanced gut microbiome is vital to support health. This foundation is cultivated during pregnancy, childbirth and breast-feeding, and is also affected by factors such as type of birth, medication, diet and our modern sterile, living conditions. This product has been developed specifically for formula-fed babies from newborn to around 3 years of age. The LAB4 group of bacteria contains two strains of bifidobacteria and two strains of lactobacillus for infant health – Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifdobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, Lactobacillus salivarius and Lactobacillus paracasei. These natural, safe bacterial strains have been extensively studied in the UK. The formula also provides prebiotic fibres naturally found in breast milk - galactooligosaccharides (GOS), derived from the lactose in milk and fructooligosaccharides (FOS), derived from fruit and vegetables.
